Do Hindi voice commands work reliably?
Yes — we have tested extensively with Indian accents across Odisha and found Alexa and Google Home respond very reliably to Hindi lighting commands. Can voice control work without internet?
For Alexa and Google Home, an internet connection is required to process voice commands. Apple HomeKit with a HomePod mini as a hub can process some commands locally. We recommend a reliable broadband connection and can advise on network infrastructure as part of your smart home project.
Can one Alexa device control lights in multiple rooms?
Yes. With correctly configured room-based groups, one Alexa device can control any room in the house — you simply specify the room in your command: 'Alexa, turn off bedroom lights'. Multiple Echo devices can be placed throughout the home so you can always give commands from wherever you are.
What if I want to change a device name after installation?
Device names can be changed at any time through the Alexa or Google Home app without any involvement from JMAP Solutions. We include this in our handover training. For significant reorganisation of rooms or groups, our team provides a quick remote support session.
